Opera users:

Fixed the script for Opera - sorta! Opera 7 implements dhtml nicely, Opera 6 lacks a transparency effect, but works!

Netscape 4 users:

(yes, we know there are still some of you out there! You realy ought to upgrade! You're missing out on a lot)

Disable javascript in Preferences | Advanced for the site to look right, till we fix the scripts.

The site even looks almost correct in Navigator 3, with JS turned off, of course, but nobody should be still using NN3!!!

Konqueror 2 users:

(Yeah, I still have it on my linux box) Disable javascript to realign the tables... If you're using linux, I shouldn't have to tell you how to do that!

Misc. Browsers:

If the top of each page looks "broken", or misaligned (like it's missing pieces), disable javascript to fix it. The site is javascript enhanced, but not dependent.

   O.O

Oh, my! No, we're not outta business, and yes, I realize it's been a very, very long time since the site was updated at all! A new site is really in development at the moment, and it should be online before Christmas! Then I'll have no excuse to not regularly update it, too :)

   Please note:

Bah, some things are still not reinstalled on the server, but I think there's enough to start building a nice new site! Hopefully, the rest will get all fixed up soon!

   Please note:

Hey, again! For those of you who are wondering, we'll spare the technical jargon, and just say yes, we were down for about 2 weeks, so any of you who sent emails, we wouldn't have gotten them, along with the website being down for the duration.

We have since nearly completed the move to the new server, and are happily setting things up at this very moment! Hopefully, all will be working again soon, we've already started setting up the CMS, so we can bring you a new, much more fully-featured site, without all the limitations of the last server :) Artguy is busy designing and coding the site he's wanted to build for Loco for the last year! Database powered, and dynamic!

The goal is to get the new site "live" sometime near the end of July. It will be scaleable, so that it won't need to be "complete" to go online, and then added to continuously! Anyway, once we feel there's enough content, and a working design, we'll bring it live, and retire the old site, so stay tuned!

For the moment, some things *may* be broken, or not quite working yet since the move, so bear with us!

Addendum:
To commemorate the move, early this morning the server had a disk crash, and we were down for a few hours again, LOL! Ah, well, soon as it's back up you know I'll be going through everything to make the necessary repairs/changes.

   Please note:
locovisual.com may (most likely) experience downtime for the next couple of weeks, as we are moving the site to a new server finally! The site may become unavailable for awhile as the nameservers around the net update to the new settings as a result. We will also be redoing the entire site, and implemeting a content management system so we can provide many more features and frequent updates! Until that is ready, the old site will still be available :)

   Again, too long between posts...
Not too much to say, added some pics to the vinyl area. We're going to move the site to a new server sometime in the next month or two,one we actually have control over, and cgi, so we can do what we want with the site, not just the limited version here. We're pretty much out of space on this one, so the added space will come in handy! Then we can script the feedback section, maybe add that blog, polls, who knows!

July 22, 2003

Wow, been awhile, where does the time go!
Well, we added a bit about screenprinting, should you be so inclined to check it out... And we fixed up the scripts a bit, so that things should be more compatible with more browsers - okay, this fix was only for Opera users (like me!), details to your right, in the Blurbs! If you notice that it "broke" something (you get errors), please let us know so we can fix it! We test in a lot of browsers, on many platforms, but there is no way to test in every combination on the planet! The author is wishing he'd made this a css based site instead, but opted for backwards compatibility instead. Next time it will be...

   Addendum to prices:
We have had to change our policies concerning deposits, see prices page for more information. Deposits are now required for evey job, NO exceptions. We apologize to our good customers, but we can't take a chance, cause sometimes even a good customer can turn bad, and try to skip out on the cheque. We dislike using collection agencies, so deposits are now mandatory, from everyone, for every job.

   2003 Flyer now online!:
We've finally added the 2003 flyer and business cards online! These are lowered in quality to speed download times, but they should be readable onscreen. The original is much higher quality, of course, for proper printing.

Download the flyer on the paper printing page.

   More Minor additions:
Added a bit more to the portfolio, and some services we forgot to mention before in the paper Printing area... Next, maybe we'll add some screen printing stuff, and instructions on how to make these products last for years, bright, and crisp!

June 8, 2003

   Minor additions:
Added a few more pics to the vinyl portfolio, web design page, paper printing area, a couple of pretties (those are pictures, BTW), and that's about it!

Will retire old news to the old news page soon (page one, page two, that sort of thing), and try to keep this file short in the future!

June 4, 2003

   Slight changes:
Cleaned up the interface, got rid of the bottom buttons to speed up load times a bit, and lessen the scripts... Got rid of the stats that never worked right - stats are nice, but server logs will have to do for now. Will probably add a few more pics to the portfolio, paper section, and web section, maybe, when I stop seeing double from staring at code too long... If you get errors, please let us know! Will test soon to see if the changes broke anything, but browser compatibility should be strengthened.

May 28, 2003

Not much on the news front today, folks
Replaced a couple of vinyl portfolio pics with - and I use the term very loosely - slightly better ones... Will finish off more of the site this week sometime, focussing on the products area of the site first, and foremost... Had a bit of a harddrive crash last week on artguys main workstation, but he's got it fixed, and only had to do a bit of data recovery this time... Ever tried to access an ntfs filesystem when windows won't boot (not even into safe mode, or command prompt)?! Yeah, fun, fun, fun! Love Micro$oft

   What's new?
Wowsers, the site is over ten days old now! Still seems kinda fresh to me... So what's updated? In the last few days we've added the contact, and prices pages, and some more of the portfolio. I think that is about it for now.

What's next? More portfolio, and the final few remaining pages, like feedback, cause we love to hear what all y'all think about stuff (ok, we should stay away from suthern accents, eh?!). Stay tooned, more coming soon...

May 17, 2003

Why is the site so crazy strange?!
Perhaps you didn't catch the name of our company?! Loco Visual... I think that about says it all... think about it!

It'll get crazier yet (our eclectic artist is rather eccentric himself), this is just the basics!

   Portfolio:
Finished (we think!) transferring the portfolio (vinyl & glass) over to the new site (that's this one, btw), or, at least, everything we had pictures for! Abused a couple Photoshop filters in the process, but it looks good so we'll let it slide... ;-)
   Site is live:
Decided to bring the site live anyway, regardless of the fact that it is incomplete! Even incomplete it looks better than the poor excuse of an old site!

If you really, really, really need to see the old site, you may still do so by clicking the link.

May 15, 2003

   Welcome Message:
Welcome to the newly redesigned (May 13-15, 2003) Loco Visual web site! Hopefully all is working, but keep in mind - yes, as always! - the site is not fully complete yet, we just got really tired of looking at the two-hour jobby website we threw up in a rush last time, and wanted to get this one up to replace it quickly!
Notes on the site, and browsers supported:

While we strive for maximum browser compatibility, technology has changed so vastly in the last few years, we have decided it has become redundant to continue to support deprecated browsers, such as MSIE and Netscape versions 1-4. This site is optimized for the latest browsers (MSIE 6, Netscape 7, Opera 7, Mozilla), 800x600 screen resolution, and javascript enhanced. We will most likely evolve this into a css-based site, and scrap the tables in the near future, as well... Use of tables instead of CSS is for browser compatibility. We are anxiously awaiting the mainstream adoption of XML for web and print, replacing the aging html, as a standard.

Why do we always make things so big?!

Our artist - and webmaster - likes his desktop space, and lots of it, and so for years has used a 1600x1200 screen resolution. He will tell you he doesn't like having to squint at web sites that were designed for 14" monitors, and low resolutions, and doesn't want to have to get right up to the screen to read the fine print...! Suffice it to say, this is one of the reasons he loves the Opera web browser so much - options (like enabling/disabling java, javascript, cookies, and popups, without having to go into any preference settings - ie: it's quick!), and magnification, on the fly, so he can sit back and read CNN from across the room... ;~)
